Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg received Lola Omolola, Chicago-based Nigerian founder of Facebook group, Females In Nigeria (FIN) at Facebook Headquarters on Tuesday, June 6th.
Taking to his page, Zuckerberg wrote that he will be meeting with Omolola and some administrators of top Facebook groups in Chicago later this month for the first ever Facebook Communities Summit.
His full post below:
“I’m heading to Chicago later this month for our first ever Facebook Communities Summit with a few hundred of our top Facebook group admins.
For the past decade, Facebook has been focused on making the world more open and connected — and we’re always going to keep doing that. But now it’s clear we have to do more. We also need to bring people closer together and build common understanding. One of the best ways to do that is by helping people build community, both in the physical world and online.
I’ve written and talked about these themes throughout this year — especially in my community letter in February and at Harvard Commencement last month. This summit will be the next chapter and we’ll discuss more of what we’re building to empower community leaders to bring the world closer together.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been meeting group admins across the country who are building meaningful communities on Facebook and will be at the summit.
This photo is with Lola, who lives in Chicago and is originally from Nigeria.
Two years ago, she founded a secret Facebook group called Female IN, or FIN. It’s a no-judgment space where more than a million women come to talk about everything from marriage and sex to health issues and work problems — and it’s helping end the culture of silence that exists for women in some parts of the world.
I’m looking forward to meeting more admins like Lola and talking about how we can help them do even more to build community. I’ll share more info on the summit as we get closer, and I’ll stream the event live from my profile later this month.#facebook #facebookceo #markzuckerberg #fin #femalesinnigeria #lolaomolola Read more

After almost a month and a half away, President Buhari returned to Nigeria yesterday, March 10th. He was received warmly by his family, gov officials and friends. Check out a video and a few snapshots from the President’s big return:

We woke up to some good news this morning – Nicki Minaj finally decided to respond to Remy Ma’s #shEther (and others who’ve taken jabs at her recently including Meek Mill), with not one but 3 new music drops including No Frauds (featuring Drake and Tunechi), Changed It (featuring Wayne) and Regret In Your Tears (which she did solo). Did the tracks hit the spot? Did they adequately respond?
To me, answer is yes. And no.
After listening to all three, the clear winner is Regret in Your Tears – which isn’t even a diss track; it’s more like her opening up about her relationship with Meek and basically telling him he missed a great one. Next would be Changed It which has a beat that everyone I’ve spoken to agrees will probably be VERY successful in the clubs and on radio. Finally – No Frauds, which is the actual Remy diss.
No Frauds itself felt cute but lackluster. It didn’t have the same bite as shEther and it wasn’t a catchy diss anthem in the way that Back to Back was. Plus, Nicki probably didn’t need Wayne and Drake on it – she could have handled it by herself, especially because the most they said was that she was getting finer with time. Which is cool, I guess. lol but this is battle rap, and the cosign didn’t seem necessary.
Anyways, overall, glad she said something at last. We can all move on now.
What did you think – did Nicki adequately address the situation or did you want more?

On February 5 however, the President wrote to the National Assembly, informing it of his desire to extend his leave.

Yesterday, we learned that Audu Maikori, the president of Chocolate City Group, collapsed just after he’d just finished moderating a Q&A panel at the 2017 Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) conference in Onikan, Lagos.
He was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital and according to reports from today, he’s fine and has been released. Glad to hear it he’s doing better.
Safaree Samuels – Nicki Minaj’s ex bae – stopped by the Wendy Williams show to chat about Shether and his relationship with Nicki. Here’s what we learned –
- Apparently Nicki Minaj’s camp tried to stop him from coming on the show;
- Safaree believes Meek had a lot to do with him and Nicki breaking up (in fact, he believes their relationship started while him and Nicki were still together); and
- He does not want to get back with Nicki.
Watch the interview below:
Is it me or did Safaree seem a little uncomfortable answering Wendy’s questions?
